Symbols YAY! ♥♦♣♠

Symbols!

I have wondered for the longest time how to do a lot of the symbols that aren't on your keyboard. And I finally found out what they are! To use these you don't use the numbers along the top of your keyboard (I tried they just don't do anything). You need to use the numbers to the right side, also known as the keypad.

Yes.. I do own the world's cutest mug... my husband made it for me a couple years ago. ♥ (see I just used one of the symbols! Muahaha!)

I am mainly happy about knowing how to use the ° (degree) sign for cooking recipes and what not. If you were ever curious here they are! There are a lot more of these but I only listed the ones that I felt would be used the most often. You can find bigger lists online I am sure... I honestly just went through and tested up to about 300 and I was just done. They start to repeat themselves and make symbols you already have on your keyboard. There are also quite a few that will make letters. So.. here are the ones you want to see!

  • Alt + 6 = ♠ (spade)
  • Alt + 7 = • (little black bullet)
  • Alt + 11 = ♂ (male sign)
  • Alt + 12 = ♀ (female sign)
  • Alt + 13 = ♪ (eighth note)
  • Alt + 14 =♫ (beamed eighth note)
  • Alt + 15 = ☼ (sun)
  • Alt + 16 = ► (right arrow)
  • Alt + 17 = ◄ (left arrow)

A Jar Full of Cute!

I found this nice big jar at Ross for only $3 a couple weeks ago. And I have been trying to decide what to do with it. I knew I would come up with something so I just put it away.. and then it hit me!

It is perfect for all of her cute little flower headbands, barefoot sandals, and bracelets that I have made and bought her. I am very into cute storage items because we live in an extremely small space. So anything to help keep help keep our items more organized is pretty sweet.

I have been able to find a lot of jar items like this at places like Ross and TJ Maxx for really cheap. And not only jars but they have tons and tons of storage items. I would say that 80% of the time I get my storage and decorative items that I haven't made myself from these two stores.

12th Doctor Revealed!!!!

Peter Capaldi.. the 12th Doctor!

Ok, there has been a lot of talk about the new Doctor for Doctor Who... Peter Capaldi. With the newer classic series there have been a lot more "young" and "hot" doctors. But many of the classic doctors were a bit older, especially the first 3 if you look back. And I can personally say that I really like the look of the new doctor, and I am excited to see him in the upcoming season!

Yes.. this is me holding my sonic screwdriver... be jealous

You will learn about me very quickly that I am a huge nerd. I love Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Trek (I have watched all the tv episodes and all the movies), Star Wars, and pretty much anything else that is science fiction or fantasy. I will probably make quite a few nerd references in this blog. Oh... I also like to play a lot of online MMOs. I played World of Warcraft for quite a long time.. along with some Everquest, Tera, Warhammer Online, and several others.

Anyways, I am a little sad to see so many people disappointed in who they picked for the 12th doctor. I however am stoked!

Just as an example of how much I love Doctor Who... this is what my sister got me for my 24th birthday this year :D She knows me so well.

She made me a Tardis birthday card (its bigger on the inside), she got me a squishy Adipose, and the 10th Doctor's sonic screwdriver!

Drive in Movie Theater!

Drive in Movies!

Ok.. so I took my son to our first drive in movie theater last night. I just have to say that I LOVED it! I know it is probably going to sound bad... But being able to close the doors to your car, and keep your child in the front seat, is WAY easier than being in a regular theater and having him run around like a spaz. I am sure I sound like an idiot, it seems like everyone goes to the drive in all the time.. except for me. The only times I had to fuss at him were the few times he started pushing buttons in my car.. but then again he is 2.

Last night we saw Despicable Me 2 and then Red 2. I guess at this drive in every "showtime" is a double feature. And I was also really happy because Red 2 wasn't nearly as graphic as I thought it might be, so my son watched it without having nightmares. And of course Despicable Me 2 was amazing. My son loved it and I loved it. The minions are hilarious.

Me and my super cute spaz monkey, Vincent!
My 2 month old was with us too.. but my friend was holding her for most of the night. I think she only handed her over when she started getting hungry. Its hard to not snuggle her.. she's pretty cute.

I would highly suggest taking your kids to a drive in, it was seriously so much fun. Even if you don't want to sit in your car, I saw a bunch of people sitting in those fold up chairs in front of their cars. And you can bring all your own, not overpriced, snacks! A lot of people brought pizza and stuff like that. We had Cloud Cakes (fake twinkies) and chocolate cupcakes.. yes I know.. we were so healthy.

The Epic Night of... not

As I have been trying to write this blog several things have happened. Here they are for your enjoyment:

1. I turned around to find that my son intentionally spilled an entire cup of milk all over a blanket that I had washed earlier this morning.
2. Only a few minutes later my son thought he could throw a glass bowl across the room without it breaking. He was wrong.. it did break.. shattered in fact. So, I get upset and screams and cries..
3. This causes my 2 month old to start crying. So I pick her up, after cleaning up the glass mess, and feed her (I breast feed). After feeding her I burp her, and she lets out a big one. One that would make a full grown man proud. Thinking that the fun is over I start giving her kisses on her face and mouth. She then projectile "spits" up all over my face, in my mouth, and all over my clean pajamas.

As of right now I am really hoping that bad things really do come in 3s. I am going to clean up our living room that is covered in toys and chip crumbs. Afterwards I am hoping that both of my children and myself can get some shut eye.

*sigh* oh the life of a stay at home mom.

Mom Body

Ok.. I have to vent after looking at too many pics of models on Pinterest. YES I am a little chubby right now. Why? because I have had two kids. Do I still like myself? YES! It was beyond worth sacrificing my body for my two beautiful babies. Will I get smaller again? most likely, I did after I had Vincent. Will it be anytime soon? nope.. I say as I am eating my 3rd brownie for the night :) Even though I look chubbers I am healthy, and that is really all that matters. I love me right now and that is more than I could say for myself when I was skinny and in high school.

Meal Planning!

Ok.. so this is how this crazy mamma plans her dinner meals every week. It is easy for me to do breakfast (cereal, or scrambled eggs and toast) and lunch (… pb&j).. but something more complex like dinner usually just makes me freak.. so.. this is how I do it.. because I am selectively OCD.
For me just making a list of what meals my family wants for the week, and then listing out the ingredients for each one makes it SOOO much easier when it comes to dinner time.
So in Excel (or whatever program.. or paper.. whateves) I just list the meal and then next to it put down what ingredients I need. I then will highlight what I have green and what I don’t have red… yes I know.. this must all sound extremely difficult.. I know you are all in envy of my skills. And then I will highlight the meal green if I have everything I need to make it. And then once I have made the meal I just delete it from my list!… I know it sounds kinda silly but it seriously helps someone who is super scatter-brained like me when it comes to dinner time.
Not only does it make it a lot easier to make dinner but it also helps to make it cheaper. If I can see that I am only going to be making one meal with chicken in it for the week.. then I won’t buy a huge bag. OR if I know that I have a huge bag of frozen chicken already at home then I can meal plan around that as well. Many times I will go and search the pantry  and freezer for what I already have and I will plan a few meals around that before I even list other things.
